Vietnam to host ASEAN Tourism Forum 2009
HANOI - Vietnam will host Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Tourism Forum 2009 in Hanoi from Jan. 6 to Jan. 12, according to the organizing committee here on Monday.
The event, themed in "ASEAN Tourism - Striving for a New Height" this year, is a valuable opportunity to promote tourism products and services of ASEAN countries and bolster regional tourism cooperation, said the organizers.
About 1,500 people, including tourism ministers of ASEAN countries, heads of tourism agencies, representatives from airline companies, business people and journalists, are expected to attend the event.
The event will include a wide range of meetings, presentation and discussion sessions. Participants will discuss orientations for future regional cooperation and work out the roadmap on regional integration towards the goal of building the ASEAN tourism community by 2019.
