Yahoo! to set up shop in Vietnam

Yahoo! Southeast Asia will close its representative office in Hanoi from February 20 to prepare for the establishment of a subsidiary in Vietnam, according to Vu Minh Tri, Yahoo! Vietnam's general director under Yahoo! Southeast Asia.
Earlier, Yahoo! approved Vietnam's four enterprises to be authorised advertisement agents in Vietnam that included Admax Co, FPT Online Advertisement Co, GapIT Media Joint Stock Co and Golden Media Group.
Additionally, Yahoo! has also launched Vietnamese version together with other services at its website: www.yahoo.com.vn.
Yahoo! in collaboration with MobiFone would also provide OneSearch search services via mobile phone.
In January, Yahoo! announced closing the website Yahoo! Music in Vietnam to review its strategy for music service in Vietnam for the future.
The Yahoo! Southeast Asia office was first granted license on August 3, 2007 by Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and has undergone four adjustments so far.
