Wind power plant to be officially opened

Tuy Phong District People's Committee, Binh Thuan Province has announced that Tuy Phong wind power plant, the first wind-turbine power plant to be built in South East Asian region had already finished the instalment of five turbines, in order to start its operation and officially join the national grid at the beginning of August 2009.
The five installed wind turbines have a capacity of 1.5 MW per turbine. Vietnam Renewable Energy Joint Stock Co (REVN), the main investor of this project, is currently speeding up the instalment work of transformer stations, the 110KV cable lines in order to connect with Phan Thiet-Thap Cham electricity grid.
There will be 80 wind turbines to be set up with the designed capacity of 120MW for this project. The entire project, with total investment capital of 2 trillion dong, is expected to be finished in 2011.
