MyTV television services to be firstly introduced in Vietnam

Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) officially introduced new television services of MyTV on Sep 28 in Hanoi.
This is the new Internet-accessed television services provided by VASC Software and Media Co on the basic of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) technologies. In details, the television signals will be changed into IP signals and transmitted via VNPT's wide-band network infrastructure to the terminals of Set-top-box (STB) and to the customers' TV sets.
At first, VNPT will supply MyTV products to customers in three large cities of Hanoi, HCM City and Da Nang City. Up to the end of Oct, 2009 this new service will be introduced nation-wide.
In the first six month, VNPT will apply promotion programme of presenting 5,000 free STBs, and reduce 50 percent charges for the following 12,000 STBs and free instalment charges and service charges in the first three months for all the customers who register to use this new service. It's expected that there willl be four types of MyTV charge packages, ranging from 35,000 dong to over 100,000 dong per month.
