Vietnam to have 89 golf courses in 2020

Nguyen Tan Dung, prime minister has lately approved for the general plan of golf courses in Vietnam up to 2020 with the purpose of using the land economically and effectively all over the country, creating jobs for local people and increasing the contribution to state budget.
It's expected that up to 2020, there will be 89 golf courses nationwide, in which 19 units have already been put into operation. In details, there are 29 projects in regions of northern central and southern coastal, 21 units in eastern southern region, 19 units in Red River Delta, 11 units in the mountainous northern region, 8 units in Central Highlands and 4 units in Mekong Delta region.
The projects of golf courses will not be built on rice-growing land, agricultural land or land to be planned for construction of industrial zones, urban areas and protective forest area (especially the protective forests and specific ones).
