Accordingly, Lao Cai airport will be built on an area of nearly 140 hectares, including a system of runways, taxiways, station system, airfield, terminal, technical service area, flight management area and technical infrastructure such as transport, water supply, electricity supply and water drainage with the purpose of using for civil airport, military airport and rescue services.

The landing runway with 1,800 meters in length and 30 meters in width is expected to serve about 200 passengers in peak days.
