At Vietnam-Ukraine Forum held last week in Hanoi, M.Azarov- Ukraine’s prime minister emphasized “Aviation is a field in which Ukraine specially desires to cooperate with Vietnam” and said that Ukraine has Antonov aircraft manufacturing complex that specialises in manufacturing super-large freighters and inter-regional passengers aircrafts with modern technology and safety, which is not inferior to any large aircrafts of Europe and the US.

Many International Airlines have rapidly penetrated and reinforced their presences onVietnam’s market.

David Cunningham, FedEx Express’s President (U.S) of Pacific- Asia said that FedEx has applied for establishing a 100 percent foreign owned business inVietnam.

With an effort to expand the market inVietnam, recently, Emirates Airlines from Gulf also launched Boeing 777-300ER for straight HCM City- Dubai flight path.

Previously, in June 2012, Emirates has begun to exploit daily HCM City- Dubai straight flight path by Airbus 330-200. In order to meet the increasing demand toward this route, Emirates changed to Boeing 777 and increased passengers transport capacity by about 50%.

Also from the Gulf, Etihad Airways (the National Airlines of theUnited Arab Emirates- UAE) will launch direct flight line between Abu Dhabi (UAE) andHCMCityin October 2013. Etihad plans to launch more Abu Dhabi- Hanoi flights in the future.

CEO and President of Etihad Airways, James Hogan said thatHCMCitywill be Etihad’s new destination in Southeast Asia, afterBangkok,Jakarta,Kuala Lumpur,ManilaandSingapore.

Qatar Airways from the Gulf also has flights betweenVietnamandQatar, landing at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat. Besides,Kazakhstan’s Air Astana Airlines will inaugurate HCM City-Almaty capital direct flight in the Mid-December or early January of 2013, using Boeing 757 with two flights a week. These flights have stopovers inBangkok.

At present,India’s Jet Airways Airlines is studying Vietnam Market to prepare for HCM City-Mumbai flight in the future. This is the following step after signing of a memorandum between Vietnam Airlines and Jet Airways in October 2011 about launching flight on TPHCM -Bangkok- Mumbai route.

Meanwhile,Turkey has speeded up steps to launch a direct flight to Vietnam. Currently, Turkish Airlines’ flies on Istanbul-HCMCityroute with stopover in Bangkok, with four times a week frequency.
