At the two-day meeting, Vietnamese and Chinese officials highly valued their efficient coordination over the year, agreeing to uphold the partnership in resolving rising problems.

They discussed various issues including opening and upgrading their border gates, building works that ensure the stability of the border and markers, strengthening control over entry and exit, cooperating in crime combat, and maintaining safety and security in border areas.

The above tasks will contribute to the economic, cultural social development in border areas between the two countries, the two sides said.

Officials of both sides highly appreciated the outcomes of cooperation between the two countries’ relevant agencies and border localities in border management and defense.

They agreed that Vietnam and China will negotiate and sign an agreement on exploiting and protecting tourism resources at Ban Gioc waterfalls and another one on free navigation at the Bac Luan River’s mouth.

The two sides also agreed that the fifth session will be held in China next year.
