The 2017 Vietnam-China International Tourism and Trade Fair kicked off in Vietnam's northern Quang Ninh province on Friday, with the participation of hundreds of firms from Vietnam, China and Thailand.

More than 400 booths are showcasing various kinds of products, including farm produce, machines, electronic appliances, handicraft products and woodwork, and promoting many destinations in Vietnam and China during the week-long fair themed "Joint Cooperation, Joint Development."

During the expo, a seminar on boosting trade and tourism in Vietnam-China border areas, a forum on facilitating export of fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products through the international border gates of Mong Cai (Vietnam)-Dongxing (China), a street festival, art performances and a golf tournament are to be held.

The annual fair is part of Vietnam's 2017 national trade promotion program.
