his year’s Army Games has attracted more than 5,000 military athletes from 39 countries from across the world. Athletes will participate in 39 contests held in 10 countries including Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Iran, India, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Uzbekistan.

In his message sent to the Army Games, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the event has become a tradition and a spectacular festival of strength and beauty of modern technologies as well as the trust and friendship between participants.

He affirmed that the Army Games have made a significant contribution to boosting international cooperation and strengthening partnerships to ensure security of countries, Asia-Europe continents and the whole world as well as acting as a collective response to threats to the stability of the world.

This is the second year Vietnam has sent a delegation to the event. The Vietnamese delegation including 125 officers and soldiers who will take part in the contests of tank biathlon, safe route, safe environment, sniper frontier, military medical relay race, field kitchen, and emergency area which will take place in Russia, China, Belarus and Uzbekistan.

On the sidelines of the Army Games 2019, Vietnam also participated in showcasing the culture and images of Vietnamese people, land and army at the “Friendship House” in addition to taking part in an art competition featuring Vietnamese cultural performances.

This is an important defence event as part of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Year (2019-2020) and to mark the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam-Russia diplomatic ties.
