Canada warns Vietnam about antibiotic in catfish

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is considering a ban on Vietnamese catfish products after finding samples with excess levels of the antibiotic enrofloxacin, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors said citing sources from the Vietnam Trade Commission in Canada.

Vietnam's tra fish export to drop 45pct in 2011

Vietnam, the source of 99.9 percent of tra and basa fish exports, expects to reduce outbound shipments of the fish by a hefty 45 percent to some 360,000 tonnes next year from this year's 640,000 tonnes, said the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (Vasep).
