American producers pay Vietnamese musician for song in ‘Vietnam War’ docu-series after free ride

Producers of an American docu-series on the American war in Vietnam have agreed to pay VND700 million (US$30,000) to a Vietnamese musician in royalties for a song used in the documentary, more than two years after its release.

Film screening cancelled in Bangkok after Vietnam complains

A second screening of a documentary featuring Mother Mushroom, the Vietnamese blogger sentenced in 2017 to ten years in jail after publicising the environmental devastation caused by a toxic leak from a steel plant, was cancelled on Wednesday afternoon after a complaint from the Vietnamese embassy in Bangkok.
