Refinery repairs cost double estimated figure

Vietnam 2nd refinery construction delayed to Q1 2012

HANOI - Construction of the $7.5 billion Nghi Son oil refinery, Vietnam's second such facility, is likely to be delayed until the first quarter of 2012 instead of the last quarter this year, a senior executive from one of the contractors said on Thursday.

Vietnam likely to import 300,000 tonnes of gasoline

Vietnam is likely to have to import 300,000 tonnes of gasoline in the near future to meet the domestic demand as the Dung Quat oil refinery will be fully shut down for inspection for two to three weeks from March 23, the online newspaper Tuoitre reported on March 22, citing Nguyen Hoai Giang, general director of Binh Son Refinery and PetroChemical Co., the company that runs the plant.

Vietnam to sell 49pct of Dung Quat refinery

State oil and gas group PetroVietnam plans to sell a 49 percent stake in its Dung Quat oil refinery to help provide funding put at $1 billion to expand the plant's capacity, a state-run news website said.

Vietnam oil refinery under construction

THANH HOA - Ground was broken for a giant oil refinery in Thanh Hoa province in Vietnam. The massive plant will be built by Petrovietnam and three foreign partners. Construction is set to begin within a month after the partners signed an agreement on April 7.
