Vietnam opposes EC's extension of anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese shoes

HANOI - The Vietnamese foreign ministry spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga said here on Wednesday that Vietnam strongly opposed the decision of European Union (EU) to extend anti-dumping duties of ten percent on leather-capped shoes from Vietnam.

EuroCham against anti-dumping tariff on Vietnam's leather shoes

EuroCham in Vietnam did not support EC's proposal on extending the anti-dumping tariff on Vietnam's leather shoes export to the market, the chamber's chair Alain Cany yesterday announced in HCM City.

Vietnam made leather shoes return to EU

The EU Consulting Committee on Antidumping Tax disagreement with the proposal of extending the applying of antidumping tariff on Vietnam's leather shoes opened a big chance for Vietnam's upper-leather shoe production sector to return the tough market.

Canada imposes antidumping tax on Vietnam-made shoes

Department of Competition Management, Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) temporarily has imposed antidumping duties on shoes and those waterproof rubber-soled shoes made in Vietnam.

Brazil proposes removing Vietnam from anti-dumping investigation

The Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalcados) has asked the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade to remove Vietnam from a list of countries being sued for dumping their shoes on the domestic market.

Vietnamese shoemakers face growing threat of bankruptcy

HO CHI MINH CITY - Some 40,000 workers have lost their jobs since anti-dumping duties were imposed on Vietnamese leather-capped shoes by the European Commission (EC) in 2006, according to the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (Lefaso).

Vietnam urges EU not to extend duties on shoes

BRUSSELS - Vietnam led a chorus of calls on the European Union on Monday not to extend anti-dumping duties on Chinese and Vietnamese shoes, saying the measures were protectionist and had already cost tens of thousands of jobs.
