Heavy rains as storm makes landfall over northern Vietnam

Storm Soudeler that had formed over the East Sea made landfall over the northern provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong on July 12, weakening into a tropical low pressure zone and bringing heavy rains.

Underground water levels falling fast in Vietnam

Hanoi - The unplanned exploitation and poor management of underground water are leading to a fast fall in its levels in Vietnam, government officials said Monday. Do Tien Hung, director of the Centre for Water Resources Planning and Investigation, said "some negative impacts have appeared" from the falling water levels.

Polluted canals foul locals' lives in HCM City
